Actors prepare, and with a new year to find an acting school that works, actors do their research about types of work, even if it’s cold reading, which creates a different element of preparedness.
One element of auditioning and performing that most actors come across often is the cold read. While some actors are naturals at being able to understand a script and adjust and read on the fly, many actors are not—you are not alone if you struggle with cold reads. Like improvisation or understanding a story, cold reading is a valuable skill.
